Software for councils and communities
Small institutions deserve software that works.
Parish councils, community groups and local organisations are mostly running websites nobody can update, on platforms nobody supports, for money nobody can justify. Flame Systems builds the alternative.
What we make
Beacon
A parish council website that keeps itself up to date: meetings, minutes, spending, flood warnings, roadworks and local transport, pulled from official sources automatically. Read more
Flame Social
A public square that works like one. Strictly chronological, no algorithm, no advertising, no tracking. In private beta.
Flame Verify
Age verification that does not hand your passport to a website. You prove your age once, in person, and your own browser holds the proof. Working prototype.
How this is different
It is built by the person who answers the phone. Flame Systems is one engineer in Kent. That is a real limitation and it is stated plainly on every page here — but it also means there is no support tier, no account manager and no ticket queue between you and the person who can fix the thing.
Everything runs on our own machines. No third-party analytics, no advertising networks, no tracking pixels. The parish sites make no third-party requests at all — you are invited to check in your browser's developer tools, which is not something most website builders will say.
Public data stays public. Where a site pulls in flood warnings, roadworks, bus stops or council tax figures, it names the source and the licence, and says when it was last checked. A feed that fails says so, rather than showing yesterday's answer as today's.
Getting in touch
Email hello@truecorehosting.com. You will get a reply from the person who wrote the software.
Being straight with you about where this is. Beacon is finished software running live, but no council has adopted it yet. The demonstration site is a real working install with invented councillors and invented payments, and it says so on every page.
If you are the first council to use it, you would be exactly that — the first. That is worth knowing before you decide, and it is reflected in what it costs.
